Delete account

PrepGuard by Barking Cat UG (haftungsbeschränkt)

Here you can find out how to delete your PrepGuard account and the data that belongs to it, with the app or without it.

In the app

1. Open PrepGuard and tap the household icon.
2. In the “Household” sheet, find the “Account” section. Tap “Delete account” there.
3. Confirm with “Permanently delete account”. You need an internet connection for this.

If you use PrepGuard without an account, your data is only on your device. There is then nothing to delete on our server; you remove the data on your device by uninstalling the app.

Without the app

Write an email to datenschutz@prepguard.de with the subject “Delete account”, from the email address you used to create your account. If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us which one. We will delete your account within 30 days at the latest and confirm this by email.

What is deleted

• your account with your sign-in details and your profile,
• your household on our server: members, supplies, emergency bag, settings and, if you entered them, health information,
• the history of your consents,
• the registration of your devices for warnings, which is tied to your account.

If you delete your account in the app, PrepGuard also removes the data on that device. After a deletion by email, the data stays on your device until you uninstall the app.

What stays

• A running Premium subscription does not end automatically. Cancel it in the App Store or on Google Play, as described on the Support page.
• Purchase data at Apple, Google and RevenueCat is not deleted automatically. Apple and Google keep purchase receipts under their own rules; we delete the data at RevenueCat on request to datenschutz@prepguard.de, unless statutory retention obligations stand in the way.
• Anonymous figures that cannot be traced back to you (for example how many households there are in total) remain.
